southeast. it s still chilly in the northeast. we do not want this to come up the coast as another possible nor easter. so our two main computer models, our european model and our american gfs model. the american model at 6 on o clock a.m. monday does have snow through virginia up towards washington, d.c., through philadelphia. then it takes a little bit of snow or mixed precipitation through new england as we go throughout the day monday and off the coast. this would be what i call a glancing blow. this would not be a huge nor easter. so that is one version. now the european model, which is typically a little more accurate has the storm system completely off the coast. no snow on monday in areas of washington, d.c. just a little bit maybe on tuesday with a big ocean storm. so odds right now are favoring an out to sea forecast, not a high impact event. still a chance it could change over the weekend. we ll keep an eye on it, but i m not anticipating anything like what we just saw in th

here s a wider view. there s the ocean storm. last week about this time we thought this would be over the top of us, but that forecast, of course, changed and the storm went further off the coast. as far as our snowfall predictions for this event are going to be, possibility of three to six inches on cape cod, notice barely any of it gets back to boston and no snow whatsoever, the i-95 corridor. another cold morning that hasn t changed. the winds are still a little gusty out there. and so the windchills are in the teens in most locations. so it s another morning where you need to bundle up the kids and yourself. today s forecast, sunshine from new york southward, clouds in new england, some of the snow showers in boston. the only accumulating snow is out there on the cape. so overall, lynn, not too bad. thanks so much. i m lynn berry. this is first look on msnbc. stay with us, morning joe is coming up at 6:00 eastern. fill . like this one. and this one.
