Head coach Mike Bree and the Waterloo Indians girls basketball team had been on a tear the entire 2021 season bringing a 13-0 record into the Section V Class B2 championship game on Saturday night, a game they would host as the top seed of the postseason tournament. Waterloo had obliterated their opponents over the past five weeks with only one of the victories by less than double-digits (a seven point win at Midlakes on 2/15). The title game would pose their biggest challenge as they would face #2 Dansville. The Mustangs were coming off a sectional title victory over Pal-Mac last season and returned all the key contributors on their championship roster.
