Group educates Booneville students about trade careers
Fort Smith Times Record
She put the truck in drive and moved out onto the road, avoiding oncoming traffic and staying between the lines.
Booneville Sophomore Brooklyn Keeter was learning to drive a semi-truck, virtually that is.
Keeter sat in an actual semi-truck as she used the steering wheel to guide the video-game-like truck on the screen through the streets. She was learning in the Be Pro Be Proud s mobile workshop. Be Pro Be Proud is an organization dedicated to educating students about careers in trade.
The semi sat parked outside the Booneville High School as students filed into the truck and its trailers where they found virtual systems, like the one Keeter used, to try out jobs in the trade field.
