Denise Ashe seeks Norristown district judge seat in May 18 primary

NORRISTOWN — Denise Ashe, of Norristown, believes the criminal justice system needs someone who understands the challenges people face in their daily lives and after decades of community service she believes she’s ready to serve her community as a district court judge. “I just think sometimes people are not being compassionate about why people got to where they are. What can we do differently and how can we treat people differently?” Ashe said. Ashe, 62, of Norristown, currently executive director and president and CEO of the Montgomery County Opportunities Industrialization Center, announced her intention to seek a nomination, during the May 18 primary election, for district court judge in Montgomery County’s Magisterial District Court 38-1-15, which includes portions of Norristown’s first and second wards.
