NORRISTOWN â Two of the five contests for magisterial district court judge posts in Montgomery County during this yearâs elections essentially were decided by voters during Tuesdayâs primary election but voters set the stage for November battles in three other contests, according to unofficial results.
In the contest for judge in Magisterial District Court 38-2-09 in Norristown, incumbent Gregory Scott, 34, won a second term as he was the top vote-getter on both the Democratic and Republican ballots and appeared to hold off a challenge from lawyer Todd N. Barnes, 43, an assistant district attorney in the appellate division of the Montgomery County District Attorneyâs Office, according to unofficial results.

NORRISTOWN — When Montgomery County voters head to the polls during Tuesday’s primary election, they will nominate their party’s candidates for magisterial district court judges in 10 jurisdictions.
NORRISTOWN â After four years promoting the revitalization of Norristown as a member of the Norristown Planning Commission, lawyer Monica Mathews Reynolds says sheâs ready to use her legal experience to serve the borough as a district court judge.
âI immensely enjoyed my role in promoting the revitalization of Norristown, but after four years, I realized that my criminal justice and legal training, 20 years of experience in the courtroom, and my personal qualities uniquely position me to make a more comprehensive contribution to Norristown as a district judge,â Reynolds said as she announced her intention to seek a nomination, during the May 18 primary election, for district court judge in Montgomery Countyâs Magisterial District Court 38-1-15, which includes portions of Norristownâs first and second wards.
