A fire broke out in a scrap warehouse in Orangi Town on Sunday night. Cardboard, plastic and other scrap material were gutted in the blaze, which damaged the roof and walls of the godown as well. No loss of life was reported
It took six fire tenders and two water tankers to contain the flames that ignited at around 1.45am. The warehouse is located in a residential area near Madina Masjid, in the remits of Mominabad Police Station, and nearby residents said they informed the fire department and the police immediately. Around a dozen houses nearby were evacuated given the intensity of the blaze.
