The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a draft supplementary budget of N895 billion for 2021.
Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, revealed this when she briefed State House correspondents on the outcome of the Council meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari, in Abuja on Wednesday.
Mrs Ahmed said the next step would be to present a bill to that effect to the National Assembly for approval, in line with constitutional provisions. ....

The federal government has launched the first made-in-Nigeria cell phone as President Muhammadu Buhari was presented with the indigenous phone, known as ITF Mobile.
The phone is one of the 12 cell phones produced, using locally sourced components by the electrical/electronics technology department of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Model Skills Training Centre. 12 indigenous mobile cell phones produced by the Model Skills Training Centre of the Industrial Training Fund, an agency under the Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment, were launched.
Presenting the phone to the President, Adebayo said it was produced by the Electrical/Electronics Technology Department of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Model Skills Training Centre, using locally sourced components. ....

The Minister identified the cell phone as ITF which has many sophisticated features.
Adebayo, while presenting the cell phone to the president on Wednesday morning shortly before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, noted that 11 other phones have been produced.
According to him, the phones were produced using locally sourced components, by the Electrical/Electronics Technology Department of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Model Skills Training Centre.
He said: “Twelve indigenous mobile cell phones produced by the Model Skills Training Centre of the Industrial Training Fund; an agency under the Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment, were launched. ....

The Director-General of the ITF, Joseph Ari, who launched the phone, dubbed, “ITF Mobile” at the 12th National Council on Industry, Trade and Investment held in Abuja recently, said the organisation had been in the process of trade-marking and certifying the phone with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and Ambassador Mariam Katagum, received the made-in-Nigeria smart-phone for onward transmission to President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
In an interview in his office, Ari said the homegrown technology was produced under the supervision of the training manager, Mrs Yinka Shodunke. ....
