Susan Waring
A SICK murderer who was jailed for at least 27 years after being found guilty of killing his girlfriend has been slammed for launching an appeal against his conviction - with the victim s family urging judges to end their nightmare. Alan Edwards has never revealed the location of mum-of-five Susan Waring’s body, despite a jury at Preston Crown Court finding him guilty of killing her and a string of other offences against women back in April. And now Edwards has launched an appeal against his conviction – leaving Ms Waring’s grieving family devastated. Speaking with the Lancashire Telegraph, Peter Waring, Susan’s brother, said he still has nightmares about Mr Edwards attacking his sister in a sinister blood-stained mask, as described in court.
A FUNDRAISER has been launched in a bid to erect a memorial for a murdered woman whose body has never been found. In April, Alan Edwards was sentenced to life in prison for murdering Darwen woman Susan Waring, who was last seen in January 2019. At an 11-week trial at Preston Crown Court, it was heard how violent bully Edwards had murdered the 45-year-old and then disposed of her body – along with his committal of a host of other crimes against several other women. Edwards has never revealed the location of Miss Waring’s remains, leaving her family and friends devoid of closure – which they hope to find in a memorial.

Alan Edwards
A “violent and controlling” bully who murdered a missing mother-of-five has been jailed for a minimum of 27 years.
Alan Edwards, 48, pretended he last saw Susan Waring when he claimed she kissed him goodbye and walked out of his flat in Darwen, Lancashire, on January 30 2019.
But the prosecution said he was a “bully” who killed the 45-year-old, disposed of her body and then attempted to cover his tracks.
After Edwards was arrested in March 2019, a forensic examination of his flat in Blackburn Road, Darwen, found blood in various locations and on items throughout the premises.
