Alan Edwards, 48, was today sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Susan Waring, 45.
Edwards claimed he last saw Susan Waring when she kissed him goodbye and walked out of his flat in Darwen, Lancashire, on January 30 2019.
But he was convicted of her murder after the prosecution said he was a violent and controlling bully who killed the 45-year-old, disposed of her body and then attempted to cover his tracks.
The victim s brother, Peter Waring, read out in court a victim personal statement on behalf of the family before Edwards was told he must serve a minimum of 27 years in jail before he can be considered for parole.
