The term may sound like nonsense but it s one you should know. take basketball. you know how many players will take the court, the shape of the court and the rules of the game. you know how long the game will last and you know how to determine who won at the end. that all makes basketball a finite game. known players, known rules, clear outcome. winners and losers. then there are infinite games. they could have unknown players. the rules could change if anyone agrees on them at all and the objective is to stay in the game, to keep going. there are many kind of infinite games. business is an infinite game. you can t win business. advanced robotics is an infinite game, too. and so is war. and if there s one thing we know about the various militia movements in afghanistan it is that they absolutely play with an infinite mind-set. how could they do anything else? ....
In terms of the belief system the militia groups most scrutinized as being part of the january 6 insurrection you think things stand today, six months later? the ones we focused on the most were the militia violent extremists out there on that day and leading the charge in certain respects. the oath keepers being the predominant one and the proud boys being the other. you ve had them very derisive factor happen but it s led to a bifurcation of the militia movements. for the most part many have de-escalated or moved away from national chapters. you ll see that from the oath keepers and proud boys. many saying they don t want to be part of what they saw at the insurrection. but separately some of the more violent adherence have broken the other direction. they want to move toward more violent groups and those predominantly are about white supremacy. the individuals more committed ....
Iraq against u.s. troops. now, this has been going on for some time, those drone strikes. a lot of concern that eventually they ll wind up killing u.s. forces and then you ll have a much more serious problem for the administration to have to respond to. so, not a total surprise that they went after these sites. they ve been keeping an eye on them. these are operational and weapon storage sites on this border. now, the militia movements are saying four of their fighters were killed. iran a bit muted so far saying this is destabilizing in the region. but the administration convinced that it had to send the message that they need to back off. these drones are dangerous for u.s. forces. they re difficult to detect and these militias are using a lot of them, as many as five attacks is believed since april. so, the message is out there and now the question is against the larger backdrop of iran/u.s. ....
Supporters latest-conspiracy theory is that the fbi was behind the insurrection. you, both, worked with the fbi. you know this is crazy. but it is being pushed by sitting members of congress. how dangerous is that? it s very dangerous, don. because it is it s making the government the the enemy. listen. the there is a threat, an anti-government thread that, you know, it is distrustful of law enforcement. of, you know, political officials. this has been the case since the 80s. i think the difference is, is that presidents, you know, like ronald reagan, george h.w. bush, put a lot of resources into fighting these anti-government militia movements. and we saw that over the years, leading up to, you know, oklahoma city. i think what is really dangerous here is that that used to be a fringe movement. that, you know, we put government resources into ....
