The first day was interesting. It was great. We greeted in the parking lot. We had to take temperatures and parents as to some questions about health, making sure that everybody was healthy at home and the students themselves. Reporter this is a special limited Access Program for only a few classrooms following Strict Health department guidelines, ensuring everyones safety. Across the street, caleb kohn is with his two kids. Jojo and torrin. I asked him what he prefers for his family. Active class or online attendance . Obviously, smaller classrooms would make more sense, but i dont know. Its too hard to know right now. Reporter todays class started right on time. They were very excited to be here. Sat down in their desks and we just waited for morning meetings to start. We are watching this very carefully and again, i will say it. I have said it many times. With the guidance of public health. Reporter caleb says he hopes the Pilot Program works out. Let them get some energy out, but t
I grabbed my purse and that was it. We had to get out. Reporter jessica watt spent the night at a friends house last night. Tonight shes not sure where she and her dad will be. The money the district gets from the state. Were going to present a fair contract to teachers within the confines of what we can offer without bankrupting the district. Reporter the district says the negotiations arent that far apart but teachers say they plan to work only their set hours until theres a contract. This could go on for weeks. It could. It really can go on for weeks. Union reps are meeting right now to discuss what kind of protest they are going to see at their schools. We might see something districtwide as a response to these contract talks. In 2011 contract talks fizzled and the district imposed a contract on teachers. The district does not think that will happen this time. History was made today when governor jerry brown was sworn in for an unprecedented fourth term. Phil matier is here with what brown has on the agenda for the next four years. Obamacare needs young people in order for it to work but they have to choose between hundreds, even thousands of dollars for coverage or a 95 fine. What are we choosing . Roll it. Honestly, because i dont know how much Health Insurance is, but i know its a lot more than that. Charles and news anchor shelby holiday asked a bunch of people and shels what you found out about this . A lot of young people are worried about the cost.
