And im told that two buildings were evacuated that are adjacent to the four buildings that caught on fire, so about 2530 people were forced out of their homes. We spoke to the battalion chief just a little while ago. He says that this is really just an unfortunate situation for everyone who lives in this area. Citizens in the area. Its obviously very damaging to them. In downtown, a very vibrant district right here. We have shut down downtown gilbert road for folks in every direction. We have got a lot of guys and gals out there working to isolate this, but so far no report of in ....
Fire started, i can tell you crews are still hard at work here. We are in a plaza thats pretty much adjacent to where these four apartment buildings caught on fire. You can still see they have those aerials going, lots of water, about 1500 gallons of water being spewed about a minute right now. I can tell you within the last ten minutes, we have seen small fires still sparking in these buildings, a lot of smoldering going on, and the crews are still working from the outside because the structure is not safe for them to go inside.
