In April Fred Burmer will take over as CEO of Lion’s Choice. He replaces Michael Kupstas as CEO of the St. Louis-based restaurant chain. Kupstas is retiring after nearly 50 years in the restaurant industry, including 6 with Lion’s Choice.
Lion’s Choice announced the appointment of Fred Burmer as Lion’s Choice’s new CEO beginning in April. Burmer is an industry veteran bringing 40 years of quick-service restaurant experience to his position at Lion’s Choice with executive leadership at brands such as PepsiCo and YUM! Brands, including Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC and Long John Silver's.
Missouri-based Lion s Choice brings the beef - roast beef, that is - to St. Louis. The legacy brand has 32 units and has opened eight in the last four years.
Known for its roast beef sandwiches for the last 55 years, Lion’s Choice partners with fellow St. Louis-based company Hungry Planet to launch the Plant-Based Meatball Sandwich, its first menu item made with vegan meat.
