Police are investigating a deadly shooting, it happened near monterey road and evening view drive before 1 40 this morning. Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. They say he died a short time later. His identity has not been released and police have not arrested any suspects. The shooting is san joses 23rd homicide of the year. Developing news out of oakland, police are investigating after a 13yearold girl was shot. Our media partner, the oakland tribune reports the shooting around 9 15 last night outside of a liquor store on foothill boulevard. Police say the girl was inside the store buying candy when shots were fired. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition. No arrests have been made there. Police had gone to the home on wednesday to respond to a domestic disturbance. They say the man began firing before officers got to the front door. Obviously they walked into a situation that they couldnt have predicted as we do in this business, and fortunately for all involved, they came out of it relatively okay. One officer was shot, but his bulletproof vest stopped the bullet. Hes in stable condition. Another officer was treated for minor injuries and released. And the busiest travel day of the Holiday Weekend was smoother than expected. The big east coast storm forced about 300 flights to be canceled on wednesday, but thats a tiny fraction of the 32,000 flights across the country.
