Now entering its 22nd hour. State, federal and local authorities are on the search tonight in the bridgeton area. The home of an 18yearold escaped accused killer who is still on the run. 18 year old Michael Huggins continues. Safe to say theyre using every resource available both ground, air. They overpowered two guards. They stole vehicle. They subsequently crashed the vehicle after a small chase. Then they escape on foot. Reporter three of the juveniles were caught in bridgeton about midday. Schools were put on lock down. State Police Helicopters searched the area by air and troopers descended on the bridgeton home where huggins once lived. Huggins was awaiting trial for the first degree murder of 21yearold did he van thai lee of bridgeton back in october of last year. Maybe and i have these concerns about going to the university or the college and maybe the counselor, adviser, leaning on them, maybe talking them out of prosecuting because of concern did for the alleged perpetrators career or education. Whatever the case may be, i worry about the fact that an individual who decides initially not to prosecute or not to report to the Law Enforcement, all the forensics is lost, and then several months later, several years later, they decide still within the statute of limitations i want that individual prosecuted so theyre not going to do that to anybody else and then the forensics is not there because it was never reported to Law Enforcement and the people that ended up dealing with it didnt have the capability to even put a case together in the first place.
