You received from your aunt. Tell the audience what it was. When i was a boy in new orleans in the late 1960s, i had an aunt named maude who was an elderly retired schoolteacher. She was a family historian and my mothers family. She was the keeper among others of our clansmen. She had some papers and files and she had a way of speaking about our Family History that was like this. The one to remember is our clansmen, my grandfather. He was a redeemer. The redemption returned in new orleans after they had been dislodged. And if you had not battled liberty place, we would not be here today. When she died, her papers went to my mother. This is now decades later her files came to me. This is how i rediscovered the story of our clansmen and wrote about it. You remember your aunt mod. You have emulated her well. I look at you at home a lot. Youve helped us really improve our business by the things you do. We have really had to have an experience with back and forth oh been, closed, up and down, happening with everybody across the country. We take a little step forward and then have to back up a little bit. Think that is the mold of the day as they would say. When we shut down we pivoted right away to online sales but it took a little while for that to happen. We quickly moved ourselves to online sales and began to excel through the online website. In addition to that, we also have added the phone calls, emails, instagram, facebook requests as well, which was really a big surprise for us. Alyson has really managed all of the online sales, which means we are sending books out from the store directly to people then we kind of moved toward having people pick up the door because the governor did lift some of our restrictions and allowed for curbside we call it door pickup because our curb is full o

Pandemic started and mister kaplan, i think you reminded me that was the day books and books shut down, is that correct . Thats correct peter. At that point we became a virtual bookshop. The only business we were doing was online and we were just exploring how to do our events virtually as well. Is an update five months into this. Its been like a roller coaster to be honest. Weve had up and down area we , we were able through the ppp loans to be able to bring our staff back. Unfortunately when we brought them back our stores were under, they were so shut down because of the pandemic youre in florida. But toward the end of it we were able to open around the beginning of july june or so. And actually not june, i think it was july that i think about it. It was in july we began to open and we opened all but one of our stores. One of our stores we close permanently on miami beach. Were looking forward to finding another space there as well.
