Covid Scotland: Ubiquitous Chip owner hopes Glasgow will soon get its magic back

NO ONE will be watching the covid lockdown update from Nicola Sturgeon this week more closely than restaurateur Colin Clydesdale.
As Glasgow waits with bated breath about whether it will be lifted out of the crippling level three restrictions which have taken their toll on the hospitality industry, the owner of Ashton Lane institution The Ubiquitous Chip is hoping this time there will be the news they have been hoping for.

There was frustration when the First Minister announced last Friday that restrictions were to remain in place in Glasgow for another week but she said they would be lifted if measures to tackle the outbreak continue to have an impact. ....

Covid Scotland: Glasgow restaurateur toasts news city is 'back in business'


GLASGOW restaurateur Colin Clydesdale welcomed today s announcement from Nicola Sturgeon that the city was able to move to level 2 this weekend adding it was brilliant for hospitality.
Glasgow, which was kept in Level 3 when measures eased in the rest of the country on May 17, will move to Level 2 on Saturday, with the First Minister saying the outbreak there had stabilised with case numbers falling slightly.
Glaswegians will be able to drink alcohol indoors, meet in private residences, and hug loved ones from the weekend.

Diversity in business must encompass economic as well as moral and legal issues

Diversity drives business performance, delivers economic growth, retains talent and builds successful teams but companies must also recognise its role around social and community-based issues.
That’s the view of Lynne Connolly, global head of diversity and inclusion at Standard Life Aberdeen who will be one of the keynote speakers at The Herald & GenAnalytics Diversity Conference next week.
