There that claim to be undecided? i think on the topic of the economy, it will be what they say in the debates when they re not on stage with their families, when there s no balloons dropping, they re not surrounded by the faithful and have to get to the mete of the argument side by side. if mitt romney can t be convincing that he can rescue this economy, president obama may look more competent. he may look like a commander in chief, someone they have more confidence on many different issues. if we have more job reports continuing to disappoint and mitt romney really next to the president of the united states looks like someone with better ideas is going to fix this, then in the final weeks he could make the sale and win. what are those better ideas? you cannot say you have them and not present them, and i think that s what i hear from a lot of people as well who are those undecideds that i still wonder how undecided they are. nefrlgs, michael, i love you because you talk to people ....

while the air force investigates the deadly crash of an eighth plane. one of these based in charlotte, north carolina. we expect to learn more in a news conference this afternoon. we know that four of the six crew members were killed, including this man, lieutenant colonel mike mckiel who spoke to one of our affiliates on saturday. lizzie o leary with the latest out of washington. what s the latest? reporter: latest is that they are investigating the cause of this crash while the other c-130s are grounded, grounded by the air force right now, and that essentially really diminishes the ability of the forest service to fight a lot of wildfires. the way the service does this is they use a number of different planes, but some of the big guns, as you said it, are the c-130s that are on loan from the air force as part of this fire fighting fleet. this is not the first time a c-130 has crashed, a relatively horrific crash in 2003 when essentially a c-130s wings folded up war ....

Double ditch. michelle obama doing work with the rope a bit later in the show. first let s get to the news live at 5:30 a.m. on a full slate of international crisis at this year s g-20 summit, one has overshadowed the rest. the civil war in syria. president obama will meet mete with the chinese president to discuss a way to ease bashar alassad out of power and end the violence that has gripped the country for more than a year. china and russia have resisted the idea and have been the two key obstacles to international intervention in syria. effectively using their veto power to block u.n. security council votes that would authorize any action. in a two-hour meeting yesterday, president obama and russian president vladimir putin agree that the violence has to end but offered no solution as to how that would happen, and they did not discuss the fate of syrian president assad, whose removal has been called the only way forward by america and many of its european allies. ....

i m joe johns in for candy crowley, and this is state of the union. the white house has led a very public campaign for the payroll tax cut extension which would save average and working americans $1,000 in higher taxes next year. after weeks of negotiations, a break-through. the senate yesterday voted to extend the tax cut and unemployment benefits for just two months. the house still has to act. president obama seems satisfied but he let congress know he is not backing off a full-year extension. it would be inexcusable for congress not to further extend this middle-class tax cut for the rest of the year. it should be a formality, and hopefully it is done with as little drama as possible when they get back in january. but he made no mention of the keystone xl pipeline compromise. to get republicans onboard, democrats agreed to a provision which says the president must make a decision within 60 days on extending an oil pipeline from canada to texas. the president ....
