The Winnipeg Police Service says northbound and southbound traffic on Main Street is unaffected by current investigation work.
More information is set to be released Thursday, but Constable Jay Murray, Public Information Officer with the Winnipeg Police Service, is sharing some information regarding an assault that occurred around 1:36 p.m. Wednesday.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of an assault in the area of Main Street and Dufferin Avenue. An adult male has been transported to a hospital with serious injuries, he says in a statement.
He could not provide an update on the man s condition. ....

No charges expected following firearms call: Winnipeg police

No charges are expected after multiple police officers responded to a suspected firearms incident on an Elmwood street Monday afternoon.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the incident in the 200 block of Munroe Avenue.
Police vehicles were seen on the street and in the back alley.
Monday evening, police told CTV News, responding officers found the incident to be a dispute between people living in the home and other people that they knew.
Police said officers have since left the scene and no charges are expected to be laid.
