Post-secular narratives on Kolkata and the Hooghly Riverfront, entailing material politics of making sacred spaces at land-water interfaces, have been seldom discussed in urban planning scholarship. This paper explores ways of reconfiguring the urban ecological landscape by planning specific social infrastructures and public works at the ghats of Kolkata. Taking two case
