(westernkansasnews.com)–For the second time this week, the Scott City Lady Beaver softball team would hit the road for a GWAC doubleheader, as they faced the Cimarron Bluejays for the first time in school history. It would be a big day for the Lady Beavers, as they were able to pick up a road sweep with wins of 14-9 and 9-7.
In their first game, Scott City led 2-0 after the first inning, only to see the Lady Bluejays pull to within 2-0 after two innings. Following a scoreless third, the teams would trade runs in the fourth inning. The Lady Beavers opened the game up with a run in the fifth, four in the sixth, and sixth in the seventh inning to go up 14-2. Cimarron made a furious rally with a seven-run seventh inning, but fell short 14-9. Rhiley Stoppel had three hits and drove in two runs for the Lady Beavers, while Melanie Duff had two runs and batted three in, and Madison Miller had two hits and two RBI.
