Diagnosed with a rare disorder caused by a defect in chromosome 22, Beggs relied on her mother for guidance. This year, she has taken her first step to independent living. Beggs, 24, moved into a home with support services built by Homes Giving Hope, a Christ-centered independent community for adults with special needs.
