good evening, i m ken wayne and i m heather holmes. fires across the area, damaging businesses kristina updates on the investigation. reporter: a string of fires lit up the sky in alameda early sunday, sending bay area firefighters racing from one scene to the next on the trail of a couple of fire bugs. this man watched his dry cleaning business of 30 years go up in flames. it s one of eight sites set ablaze in the city in a matter of hours. i always think of alameda at being real request safe and quiet, last night, apparently, it wasn t, eight fires within a few hours and it s startling. reporter: an arson task force is assessing the damage among it, melted garbage cans in burnt homes. i never thought it would happen to me. reporter: francisco, thankful to have his family by him after a scary night. i looked around for my kids. they are all okay. reporter: alameda s fire chief credits newual aid for their help and said it s no doubt the fires we ....
