News4s Megan Mcgrath is live at the shady grove metro station, talking to riders out there. I guess theyre pretty happy its open again. Reporter well, yeah, weve talked to a lot of riders this morning during rush hour, and they say that, yeah, no question about it, yesterdays shutdown was certainly an inconvenience, but they all pretty much agreed that it needed to happen in the interest of safety. A return to normal service for metro this morning. Emergency inspections and repairs were finished overnight, all in time for a 5 00 a. M. Opening. How do you feel about coming back today . Been in the business for as long as any of us can remember. She was gorgeous and stunning last night. And, again, shes stepping down from the view in her onair capacity. It was funny seeing all the journalists over the years and each person who was influenced by her. Everybody has a barbara story. She was a trailblazer who was probably just doing her job and didnt even realize she was blazing a trail. Oh, thats me photobombing. Like a total weirdo. I would have loved to have been there.
