KARACHI: The next time you drive past the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, you are least likely to find chalking and political graffiti defiling the walls and footpaths that skirt the landmark, because a group of Karachi’s young residents charged with the passion to transform the city’s landscape cleaned them on Sunday.
Around two and a half months ago, 21-year-old DHA resident Zohaib Ahmed Khan decided to work for the beautification of the city and formed a group called ‘Rang De Karachi’. “We want to clean the roads of Karachi, install street lights and uplift the footpaths,” he said. ....

Islamabad: National University of Modern Languages (NUML), under the aegis of its intellectual, literary and cultural forum ‘Mehfil,’ organised an online lecture of the renowned scholar Professor Fateh Muahmmad Malik on the topic, ‘Quaid-i-Azam, Pakistan and Youth.’
NUML Rector, Major General (r) Muhammad Jaffar presided over the session and the chief guest Professor Fateh Muahmmad Malik spoke at length about the historic and constitutional role of Quaid in the making of Pakistan.
In his lecture, the Dr Fateh threw light on the Pakistan Movement in detail and said that young generation has scant knowledge of history as subjects like political science and history are not adequately taught in Pakistan. ....

KARACHI: Holders Central Punjab on Tuesday conquered Southern Punjab by ten wickets to make it to the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (first-class) here at the SBP Ground.
Central Punjab will face Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the five-day final of the country’s marquee first-class event here at the National Stadium from January 1.
It was indeed a splendid turnaround for Central Punjab in the season. Halfway through the event, held under a double league system, Central Punjab were nowhere in contention for the title. However, they staged a remarkable fightback and produced four wins in the last five games to re-emerge as the title contenders yet again. ....

Central Punjab move closer to Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final

KARACHI: Holders Central Punjab put themselves on the brink of qualification for the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (first-class) when they reduced Southern Punjab to 314-7 in their second innings, having first forced them to follow on the third day of their four-day last round fixture here at SBP Ground on Monday.
Southern Punjab are eight runs ahead with only three wickets in hand. Opener Zain Abbas spearheaded Southern Punjab’s innings with a superb 118 off 172 balls. He hit 18 fours and one six in his maiden century of the season.
Agha Salman once again batted well, scoring 79 off 119 balls, smacking 12 fours. Umar Siddiq (32) and Imran Rafiq (30) were the other notable contributors. ....
