DOTD Schedules Lafayette I-49 Connector Meetings DOTD will hold meetings about the I-49 Connector for residents living along the proposed highway’s path. The three meetings are scheduled for this afternoon and tonight. The meeting for the LaPlace neighborhood runs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The McComb-Veazey meeting goes from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Sterling Grove meeting runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. These meetings are the first round of neighborhood discussions about the I-49 Connector. DOTD is planning a second round of meetings about the elevated expressway. The dates and times for those meetings will be set late. ....
Residents of Lafayette neighborhood gather for Parti Gras KATC and last updated 2021-02-20 21:54:04-05 Since many Mardi Gras celebrations were canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a Lafayette neighborhood decided to hold their own party this weekend - Parti Gras, that is. The 2nd Annual Parti Gras started Saturday and will be held again on Sunday from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Held by the McComb-Veazey Neighborhood Coterie and several other organizations, the event allows residents the chance to listen to live music or shop from local vendors. Families can also pick up a Parti Gras Mambo bag, filled with Mardi Gras goodies and instructions on how to make your own mask. There will be prizes available for best mask. ....
