The McAlester Police Department is reminding drivers about the lifesaving benefits of wearing a seat belt this spring, during the U.S. Department of Transportationâs National Highway Traffic Safety Administrationâs (NHTSA) national Click It or Ticket high-visibility enforcement effort. The national seat belt campaign, which coincides with the Memorial Day holiday, runs from May 24 to June 6, 2021.
âWe hope that all drivers and passengers automatically buckle up,â said McAlester Police Captain Richard Parker. âItâs not just a safe and easy thing to do â itâs the law. During the Click It or Ticket campaign, our officers along with fellow law enforcement across the state will ensure the message gets out to drivers and passengers.
