NeighborImpact's New Food Warehouse Breaks Ground | MyCentralOregon.com - Horizon Broadcasting Group, LLC

NeighborImpact's Food Bank is building a new Food Warehouse! In celebration of the project, NeighborImpact invites you to attend the groundbreaking ceremony at 9 AM on Friday, January 20. NeighborImpact's Food Bank stores and distributes nearly four million pounds of food annually to Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. As the hub of the food distribution network in Central Oregon, it is the primary source of food for nearly 60 pantries and emergency food sites in this region. Even before the sharp increase in hunger due to COVID, the existing 30-year-old warehouse already distributed more pounds of food per square foot than any other food bank in the state's 21-agency food banking network. The new 10,691 square foot warehouse will allow the organization to store roughly 173,300 more pounds of food at any given time. Council on Aging Resumes In-Person Dining

The Council on Aging of Central Oregon (CoA) is pleased to announce that in-person senior community dining will return in Bend starting with a Thanksgiving meal on Wednesday, November 23rd. After three years of renovations to the old Bend Community Center, and closure due to the pandemic, lunch will now be served in the dining hall of the new CoA Senior Services Center at 1036 NE 5th Street in Bend. All people 60 and over are invited to enjoy meals every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with the exception of Thanksgiving (November 24th and 25th). The new Senior Services Center is designed to be a resource for all Central Oregon seniors, featuring an information and referral hub, large dining hall, community room, social areas, computer stations, production kitchen, and administrative offices.
