May 13th, 2021 By Maya J. Carter Well, this was the first Mother’s Day holiday without my Mom, which was harder than I thought it would be. In order to distract my mind from the grief of her unexpected death, I was grateful to have friends and family send messages of support, love and laughter which were like salves for the deep wound left from her passing. My brothers visited her grave, and are thinking about ways of making the visits a bit easier, such as installing a granite bench and maybe adding a flower holder to leave her sunflowers. I am located across the country, making it hard to visit, but I am grateful that my brothers are close. I thank them so much for making the day bearable. ....

By no means is this a conspiracy theory which is defined a “a belief that some covert but influential organization is responsible for a circumstance or event.” A conspiracy theory would technically define the basis for the Arizona 2020 Presidential Election recount. The conspiracy theory leading to the recount pushed by none other than the orange monstrosity and his sycophants, our very own twice impeached president that is the ultimate definition of a sore loser who will continue to maintain a lie to dupe the masses of his loyal followers. That conspiracy theory he continues to push is that the 2020 election was “stolen” due to veer fraud. The conspiracy theory that has thus far led to federal and state charges for almost 450 people and the arrest of nearly 300 of his most devoted followers who “stormed” the Capitol building on January 6, 2021 in an effort to stop the constitutional duty ....

Please do not get me wrong as there is a lot of good done by individual and groups trying to make our society more harmonious. Just keep that question in the back of your minds, though. apologize for having to state it that way, but there really is no other way to put it. I am frustrated because while we are in day number 108 of the year 2021, there have been more than 150 mass shootings in the United States so far this year as per the Gun Violence Archive, and the number of gun deaths of American citizens are on the rise. Not to mention that in the Year of Lord 2020 A.D., the year of months-long lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were nearly 20,000 Americans killed by gun violence, more than any other year in the last two decades, and 24,000 suicides by gun in 2020.
