Local roundup: Thetford’s Marshis tosses no-hitter to top Oxbow

BRADFORD, Vt. Two of Thetford Academy baseball’s three losses this season have been no-hitters. On Saturday at Oxbow High, the Panthers were finally on the right side of that feat.
Junior Ethan Marshia dominated against the Olympians, holding them hitless in a 4-0 Thetford win. Two walks and an error separated Marshia from a perfect game. He struck out eight in his complete-game no-hitter.
“Ethan pitched extremely well today,” Panthers head coach Phil Chaput said. “He mostly used his fastball to keep Oxbow hitters off balance early and used his breaking ball in the late innings to continue to keep them off balance.”
LANGDON, N.H. Lebanon (2-6) softball picked up its second win in a row with an 18-8 road win over Fall Mountain.This continued Lebanon’s big week, as the Raiders snapped a 44-game losing streak Monday, also against Fall Mountain.The Raiders started.

LEBANON The Lebanon High girls tennis team got its season off to a flying start on Monday, stopping the state runner-up the last time the NHIAA had a Division II tournament.
Kaeley Skakalski won a singles tiebreaker and fought off five match points in her doubles match with partner Keira Hines, giving the D-III Raiders two key points in a 6-3 win over D-II Bow at the Carter Community Building Association courts. Crisi Patel also contributed wins in singles and doubles for Lebanon (1-0). Bow reached the finals of the D-II tourney in 2019, losing to Portsmouth.
