Hefajat leader Korban remanded in 2013 Paltan mayhem case

DHAKA, April 21, 2021 (BSS) – A court here today placed Hefajat-e-Islam Dhaka city unit vice-president Mawlana Korban Ali on seven-day remand in a case lodged over the mayhem in capital’s Paltan area in 2013.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid passed the order as police produced Korban, also a joint secretary general of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, before the court and pleaded to place him on 10-day remand.
Police arrested Korban Ali from capital’s Basabo area at around 5.30 pm on April 20.
Hefajat-e-Islam laid seize on capital’s Shapla Chattar area on May 5, 2013, unleashing inexpressible atrocities in and around the capital. ....
