He wasnt really difficult to do with all the work we do around the community and in this region centered around some of the most fabulous women that you find anywhere so thank you very much for joining us today. I have the privilege of representing this Congressional District and representing a state that the center for American Progress has said is the number one state for women in the country. [applause] now of course we take great pride in that but we know we have a lot of work to do. Im honored, really honored to be here today with our senior senator, our mentor and our friend, our senator Barbara Mikulski. [applause] and most delighted to welcome somebody who is not a stranger either to Prince Georges County were to maryland or the Fourth District
Its a tricky question, and thats going to matter a lot for natural gas. No one mentioned nuclear yet in the institution. Yeah, id like to. If theres questions, i want to get to nuclear in a second, but, vivian, to what extent does the Development World ham strung by resource shortages, you mentioned renewables need to be Cross International boundaries. Is there an economic incentive to develop fuels, and do they have enough like africa or india . Well, it varies a lot depending on the country. I mean, one of the exciting developments in recent years has been the huge gas discoveries in africa, actually. Nigeria and angola are major producers, but mozambique came from nowhere to be a major producer changing the problem for africa in terms of changing to fossil fuels in the energy transition. Not only is natural gas attractive, but for the local pollution is minimal compared to coal which is also a domestic pollution issue in india and china. Theres a lot of scope for moving in that dire

Of all, theres a couple of committees that have jurisdiction. Its not just us. Ways and means and you got icea and the government reform committee. I dont know what is precisely going on in the senate, but were going to continue our oversight role as we showl. We have two subcommittees. One is the subsubcommittee. A lot of questions relating to the security of the individuals information that they put into the system as well knowing that they are changing a number of the lines to try make it work. So theres a lot of issues that are out there, and i dont know that we will do a hearing every week just on this. We have a lot of other issues as well whether they be energy, telecommunications, trade, etc. , so theres only so much time in the day. Did the contract ost have an affirmative responsibility to warn c. M. S. That more testing was needed . We heard one say, its not our job. Im not sure they offered the response, remember, they are under oath so they were a little careful in terms o
We are almost done but we have just enough time for our traditional final question for our guest. For all weve been through in the past 12 months what would you wish for america in the coming year . Oh god, my wish for 2015 is peace. And my own show on cnn. I hope all these countries can just stop protesting and rioting and just live and love each other and life is so short. And my other dream is to play first base of the cleveland indians. My hope for 2015 is that the news becomes a little bit easier to follow. Because its gotten more peaceful. Thats probably not going to happen. But we could hope. Its been a rough year we need a good 2015. My hope for 2015 is the world gets motivated to Work Together on climate change. If we could just live in a world where we thought the police were being policed by somebody i think 2015 would be a dramatic improvement. Over 2014. My hopes for 2015 is that we can all get along and all just love each other more and help each other more and you know w
