Police investigate death in Elkhart County


ELKHART — The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a man that occurred Thursday morning.
Elkhart County Sheriff s Department deputies responded to a call of a domestic dispute involving weapons at a house in the 23000 block of Florence Avenue shortly before 8 a.m. Officers found an unconscious 35-year-old man and a woman who sustained lacerations. Her age was not known at the time.
The woman was airlifted to a hospital, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case remains under investigation. ....

Woman treated for injuries in acid attack


SOUTH BEND — The St. Joseph County Special Victims Unit is investigating an incident where a woman was splashed with acid.
The attack occurred early Tuesday in the 3400 block of East Jefferson Boulevard, according to police. The woman is still being treated at an area hospital. No arrests have been made in the case. ....
