We are thrilled this evening to welcome the programs founder, dan pedderson. He went on to become the senior officer in the group of nine men who formed the navys legendary Top Gun Program at navy air station in march 1969. He served in combat during the vietnam war with the flying crews. He retired as a captain having accumulated 6,100 flight hours and 1,005 carrier landings. For those of you who know his story from the 1986 movie top gun, you will be happy to know that he is producing a sequel which is scheduled to be released in 2020. This shows the history from detroit from basically before the city was settled, the actual city of detroit, up through the rise of the various industries. About a span of 200 years. The city of detroit itself was founded by the french in 1701. Name. T is a french rait,ans that st representing the strait of water through the Detroit River. This is a representation of what it may have looked like. There is a long history that took place before this. Human habitation began in this ago withst 2000 years that we sometimes refer to as mountain builders that came out of the Mississippi River area. They came to this region and left us these large burial pounds. At one point there were six of them in the city. Now there is only one that remains.
