Fairfield Community High School is readying for its spring production of "Mamma Mia!" late next week. Shows are scheduled for April 1st and 2nd in the FCHS gymnasium; gates will open at 6:15, and the shows will begin at 7. 40-year-old Ray E. Tate appeared in Wayne County Circuit Court yesterday for a negotiated change of plea. After pleading not guilty in February to 38 counts related to the death of Wayne County Deputy Sean Riley, he pleaded guilty to Count 9 – first-degree murder – and the remaining counts were dismissed. A sentencing hearing was set in Wayne County Circuit Court for April 22nd at 9 a.m. The Fairfield Community High School Board of Education met last night. It awarded a fuel bid to Wabash Valley Service Company at an increase of 30 percent. It also approved Irwin's Roofing to recoat the roof on the east gymnasium and HSC Pavement Maintenance to seal and stripe the southeast parking lot; the total cost of the work will be about $37,500.
