hours since the fire started, and it has already grown to more than 3,000 acres. more than 300 firefighters are on the fire lines, and more have been requested. cal fire says the flames have been moving fast and homes east of the town of lower lake are evacuated. one resident told us five homes have been lost, but so far, cal fire isn t confirming that. earlier tonight, we spoke to a woman who lives in lower lake. reporter: there s lots of branches there, there s a lot of homes, and they re going in, they re rescuing people. there s trailers. people getting their animals out. if that fire jumps, there s no water in the creek. the fire is burning through brush and timber that is very dry from our drought. we do have a crew on the scene. they are telling us the flames are moving away from the town of lower lake now, but homes and ranches there are still threatened. an evacuation center is also opened at the highland senior center. take a look at this picture of the fire, it
