Police: Georgia shooting suspect may have 'sexual addiction'

Officer faces criticism for saying suspected Georgia shooter had 'a really bad day'

Capt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is facing backlash for the way he described the Georgia man charged with killing eight people Tuesday night.
“He was pretty much fed up and kind of at the end of his rope, and yesterday was a really bad day for him and this is what he did,” Baker said.
Police have said Robert Aaron Long said he targeted massage parlors because he has a “sexual addiction” and wanted to “eliminate” places of “temptation.”

After Baker’s comments, “FOR HIM” began trending on Twitter, with many criticizing the officer’s rhetoric toward the shooter’s actions. ....

Man suspected of killing eight in Georgia 'may have sexual addiction' | Chester and District Standard

The suspect in a series of shootings that left eight people dead at massage parlours in the Atlanta area may have a “sexual addiction”, officials have said, but added it was too early to say if the attack was a hate crime.
Police arrested a white 21-year-old Georgia man who they say has taken responsibility for the shootings, while denying they were racially motivated. Six of the victims were identified as Asian and seven were women.
Officials told reporters that Robert Aaron Long, from Woodstock, said he was a frequent visitor to massage parlours and intended to eliminate the temptation he thought they posed. Officials would not say whether sex took place at the parlours where the shootings occurred. ....
