Under new management, Burlington's Mary Cummings Park blossoms

Mary Cummings Park has been a somewhat unrecognized parcel of natural beauty for decades.
The 200-plus acres located in Woburn and Burlington offer a blend of wildlife, vegetation, and water features that encourages a variety of outdoor recreational activities.
For much of its existence, though, the site has been neglected, rarely used, and the subject of possible development. But a group of Burlington and Woburn residents was determined to protect and preserve it.
In 2007, they established the Friends of Mary Cummings Park, a 501c(3) nonprofit, and began a campaign to save the Park. According to their website, the FMCP sought “to keep our park forever open as a public park and playground, to promote recreation, and the protection of its wildlife, habitat, and watershed.” ....

The North/Andover area properties of The Trustees are excited to announce January programming at The Stevens-Coolidge Place, Mary Cummings Park, Weir Hill, and Ward Reservation. Jump into the new year with one of our in-person or virtual programs to kick start 2021 on the right foot. Please note The Stevens-Coolidge Place will remain closed to the public except for scheduled programming during construction and until further notice; however, we encourage everyone to explore some of our neighboring properties to get us through the Winter Covid-blues.
