That s always concerning. But this year, the level of celebratory gunfire was something like we haven t seen before. Then there was this. Police say a sideshow in east oakland had about 300 cars and 200 spectators. The police department had tried to prepare for july 4th and had dedicated units to handle these sideshows and fireworks, but because of the shootings, those officers had to be diverted to handle violent crime. We are talking about 12 hours of nonstop chaos throughout the city, both of violent and sideshow. That s what s concerning. So if there s any idea of does this police department need resources to address these issues, for sure we do. It s clear we do. It s clear that the problem we are facing is a challenge for us to manage, and they re not going away. They have continued to be here this entire year, and we clearly know that we were outnumbered yesterday with sideshow vehicles and spectators. foggy spots could slow people down right you want to be cautious if you re driving out there this morning because of the fog that what a difference. no rain makes i we love it yesterday i was stuck on the bay bridge with other people because it was just a lot of rain making it very stopping go for traffic out there. but everything looks great this morning you can see cars heading into the city right now may s to fremont street here less than 15 minutes for your drive time in our busiest bridge this morning, san mateo bridge, everyone heading across to the peninsula there you can see all of the tail lights 8.80 to one o one less than 14 minutes as you head over there. and the richmond bridge, definitely a lot quieter but still traffic is moving in their swiftly less than 9 minutes for you to head in and out of richmond and the golden gate much drier than it was yesterday for us less than 20 minutes. we are going to continue getting you to wherever he needs to go this morning
expansive i update to those red flag warnings now for areas of the east bay and the coast and addition to what we saw in the north bay yesterday as winds further spread across the bay area. upping that fire danger for more and more areas as for this morning skies are clear beautiful start to the morning. but unfortunately we are seeing those red flag warnings now in effect for areas right along the coastline all the inland east bay and upper elevations too it s not just today, but red flag warnings through friday as winds continue to gust into a range of 10 to 20 miles per hour for most areas. pete gust that mountain tops and this is the concerning part right here up to 40 miles per hour. so in those more exposed mountainous and often forested areas that s where you have that greatest concern for a fast moving fire should there be a spark. now futurecast a wind gust shows you we are pretty calm this morning, but winds pick up again this afternoon this has been a really stead
