Chadwick Boseman 'Black Panther' Workout

The Origin Story
“I did not graduate from Howard University [the historically Black college that Boseman attended until 2000],” says Addison Henderson over Zoom. “But my family did and my friends did. In fact, I was introduced to Chad via another Howard alum about ten years ago. Chad and I became fast friends upon meeting. We were both performers and writers and directors and bonded over art. We shared a lot of the same ideas and goals, and things that we wanted to do.”
Henderson and Boseman also shared a keen interest in athletics and soon began training together, Boseman showing Henderson some basic martial arts, Henderson showing Boseman wrestling techniques. And of course, there was boxing. ....

Movie reviews: 'The Little Things' is a dark mystery that keeps the viewer guessing

THE LITTLE THINGS: 3 STARS
The Little Things, a Los Angeles-set crime drama now available in select theatres and on PVOD, features a trio of Oscar winners in a dark story that shows the soft underbelly of the glamour capitol.
Set in 1990, pre-DNA testing, this is a story of old-fashioned police work. Wits, stakeouts, payphones, and bleary eyes are their tools; obsession and black coffee fuel them.
Oscar winner number one Denzel Washington is Joe Deacon, a deputy sheriff in small town California, whose job as a big city detective is long in the rearview mirror. When he joins strait-laced LAPD detective Sgt. Jim Baxter (Oscar winner number two, Rami Malek) on the hunt for a serial murderer, they focus on Albert Sparma (Oscar winner number three, Jared Leto) an off-kilter character they suspect is the killer. Turns out, their case reverberates with echoes from Deacon’s troubled past. ....

The Gratuitous B-Movie Column: Kill Zone

Kill Zone
Donnie Yen December: Week 3
Hello, everyone, and welcome once again to the internets movie review column that has never been in a brutal, alleyway knife fight with, well, anyone, The Gratuitous B-Movie Column, and I am your host Bryan Kristopowitz. In this issue, issue number five hundred and eighty-one, Donnie Yen December continues with the crime flick
Kill Zone, which, as far as I can tell, hit home video in the United States in earlyish September 2006.
Kill Zone
Kill Zone, also known as
SPL: Kill Zone and directed and co-written by Yip Wai Shun/Wilson Yip, is an oddly compelling crime movie that, I guess, has some serious badass action scenes in it because it stars Donnie Yen, Sammo Hung, Simon Yam, and Jing Wu. If those guys weren’t in the movie (well, Simon Yam doesn’t engage in the same kind of action as the other three in the movie so maybe I shouldn’t include him in this), ....

Jiu Jitsu review – Nicolas Cage gives it his all in mortal extra-terrestrial combat

Last modified on Thu 17 Dec 2020 07.11 EST
The entertainingly frazzled presence of Nicolas Cage provides a reason to pay some attention – but not much – to this otherwise uninspired and by-the-numbers martial-arts action-sci-fi crossover.
Kickboxing star Alain Moussi plays Jake, a guy that we first see in some kind of mortal combat with a mysterious extraterrestrial figure that emerges from a temple in Burma every few years or so for a monumental showdown with humanity – or, at any rate, that element of humanity who are keen on one-on-one MMA smackdowns. Later, Jake wakes up with his memory gone, and must try to come to terms with his forgotten warrior destiny. In so doing, he makes contact with a priestly siblinghood of martial arts superstars who are also dead set on taking down this invader. They include the wacky Wylie (played by Cage himself), Carmen (taekwondo champ JuJu Chan), Kueng (Thai martial arts legend Tony Jaa) and Forbes (muay Thai enthusiast ....
