Chef Andy Yang reopens Table 38 at Siam Discovery, launching along with new Isaan restaurant Pi Kun by Chef Andy Yang is the new eatery member at Siam s edgy retail paradise By Arpiwach Supateerawanitt Advertising Andy Yang, the Thailand-born chef who snatched one Michelin from New York s Rong Tiam in 2010, has continued to build up his food empire in Bangkok, juggling around his famed eateries around town. Last year, the celebrity chef debuted his popular pad thai at upmarket food center Thai Hub Mahanakhon CUBE. This year, the chef kickstarts 2021 by relocating his hyper fine dining Table 38 from Soi Sukhumvit 38 to Siam Discovery, taking over the huge space on the ground level the now-gone-for-good Jamie Oliver s Italian once vacated. The space is, however, so massive that one eatery wouldn t fit well: that s how Pi Kun, his new Isaan-focused venture, came to life. ....
Kill Zone Donnie Yen December: Week 3 Hello, everyone, and welcome once again to the internets movie review column that has never been in a brutal, alleyway knife fight with, well, anyone, The Gratuitous B-Movie Column, and I am your host Bryan Kristopowitz. In this issue, issue number five hundred and eighty-one, Donnie Yen December continues with the crime flick Kill Zone, which, as far as I can tell, hit home video in the United States in earlyish September 2006. Kill Zone Kill Zone, also known as SPL: Kill Zone and directed and co-written by Yip Wai Shun/Wilson Yip, is an oddly compelling crime movie that, I guess, has some serious badass action scenes in it because it stars Donnie Yen, Sammo Hung, Simon Yam, and Jing Wu. If those guys weren’t in the movie (well, Simon Yam doesn’t engage in the same kind of action as the other three in the movie so maybe I shouldn’t include him in this), ....
To be a writer, i want to be an artist, you want to work in film, it just seemed like a million miles away. then 30 years later, to actual accomplish those things and realize there are other kids who are feeling that same thing, there are people who could do the things they love but do it from milwaukee. without having to, oh, i have a little bit of talent. i better get out of here as quickly as possible. what if we were to embrace all of that talent instead of systematically suppressing it. we grew up in ma kwan. it s a suburb of milwaukee. not exactly in milwaukee. there were no black folks where we grew up. virtually none. even when we moved into that neighborhood, as few black people that were in macuan, we all lived on that block. that block was the black section of town. back in the day, they would call it n-word row. ....
