She spent nearly 7 years in the city s legal department ROCKFORD Lafakeria Vaughn, an assistant city attorney for the city of Rockford, has been appointed the new Civil Bureau chief for the Winnebago County State s Attorney s Office. State’s Attorney J. Hanley made the announcement Thursday. Vaughn worked for nearly seven years as an attorney in the city s legal department, where she prosecuted city ordinance violations, litigated small claims cases, foreclosure petitions, property tax appeals as well as advised the Rockford City Council Code and Regulation Committee, Rockford City Council Planning and Development Committee, Zoning Board of Appeals and the Liquor and Tobacco Advisory Board. ....

Hanley, a Republican who won election on Nov. 3, took office on Dec. 1 and spent the last two weeks sorting through the transition from stateâs attorney Marilyn Hite Ross before making leadership announcements on Tuesday. His executive team will include First Assistant Stateâs Attorney Maria McCarthy, Civil Bureau Interim Chief Charlotte LeClercq, Criminal Bureau Chief Ken LaRue, Sex Crimes Prosecutor Kirstin Krivanec, Juvenile Unit Supervisor Rob Simmons and Misdemeanor Unit Supervisor Seth Wiggins.
