lucas tomlinson is here live with the latest. reporter: jon, according to a new fox news poll, 3 out of 4 voters think the economy is getting worse. while eating ice cream in portland this weekend, president biden appeared to disagree. i m not concerned about the [inaudible] i m concerned about the rest of the world. does that make sense? can you explain that? yes. our economy s strong as hell. reporter: a majority of voters, 51%, to be exact, say their financial situation is now worse compared to two years ago. only 15% say it was better. on fox news sunday, congressman steve scalise offered this explanation why: do. they are furious with biden and pelosi s far-left, socialist agenda that has led to just the cost of everything you guy when you go to the grocery store, if you can even afford to put gas in your car. reporter: if the election for president were held today, only 33% of voters would vote to reelect biden. a majority, 54%, would vote for so ....
for too long marijuana possession has been used as a weapon against underserved community. whenever you look at the challenge that we face with crime in our society, it is the wrong signal, 30 days before the election. the pardons are about marijuana. expunging criminal records for people out of jail. no one is left serving time in federal prison solely for marijuana possession right now. but this is also about much more than marijuana. as some critics did seed on old tropes that stigmatize, sean hannitiy attacking as a hail mary jane. and you just heard that from a republican governor, mr. hutchinson, linking personal marijuana use to what he sees as general crime in society. that is actually the whole point, though. marijuana is no longer a crime at all in much of our society across 19 states here. some liberal. some less so. and the scare tactics about pot as a dangerous drug on par with heroin or crack have truly lost their punch in today s society. you know we ....
Crisis. it s exploding in country, and inner cities feel that probably more directly than the folks out in the suburbs. well, that s certainly true. i think the white house could have done itself a big favor when at the same time as they announced, you know, amnesty and all this, clemency for people convicted of marijuana possession crimes great move, by the way, amazing, smart move finish but at the same time the, they should have announced they were cracking down on fentanyl distribution, you know, like human trafficking. you know, we re going to go easy on these folks, but we re going to go harder on those folks, that would have been politically more advantageous for the white house. jon: another fox news poll, when asked if the economy is getting better or worse, same number, 21% is all would say the economy is getting better. and, you know, if that s the general feeling out there, again, that doesn t bode well, david, for the party in power. no, it do does not. and i ll tell ....
