Jacksonville, Fla. – The Florida State women’s track and field team closed out the 2023 NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday at Hodges Stadium. Caisa-Marie Lindfors, Alexandra Webster, Dajaz DeFrand, and Alyson Churchill will join Stella Weinberg at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas from June 7-10 following their performances on Saturday. “It was another really good night for the Noles,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “The ladies had bests by Daja, Alyson, and Alexis, and the 4x100 automatically qualified. Caisa got her ticket punched as well.” Just off her ACC title, Lindfors started off the day by finishing 12th in the discus, with a mark of 52.70, which she threw on her second attempt. The 4x100 relay claimed the final NCAA qualifying spot, finishing 12th at 44.34 behind Ava Klein, Kaniya Johnson, Tyra Wilson, and Faith Banks. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State’s track and field program pulled off an upset last year at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and they are hoping for the same kind of performance this year at the conference championships being held at NC State Thursday-Saturday.
“We were picked to finish third in the league on the men’s side last year and fifth on the women’s,” said Head Coach Bob Braman who leads all active ACC coaches with 12 men’s outdoor championships and five women’s titles. “We ended up winning the men’s championship by the largest scoring margin in ACC history and the women were only nine points shy of a title of their own.
“This feels like a similar scenario, but it would be very difficult to have as monstrous a meet as we had last year,” Braman said.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Madelyne Anderson of the Beach Volleyball team, and football’s Jordan Travis were named as the Florida State Athletes of the Year at the 29th Annual Golden Nole Awards celebration at the Ruby Diamond Auditorium on the Florida State campus. Anderson, a redshirt junior, has led the Seminoles to a No 4 national ranking this season and was named a First Team All-American in leading Florida State to the national finals in 2022. Travis, a redshirt senior, earned Second Team All-ACC Honors in leading the Seminoles to a 10-3 record and a victory in in the Cheez-It Bowl over Oklahoma during the 2022 season. The event, which is sponsored by Florida State’s Student-Athlete Development Office, has recognized those Seminoles who excel as members of the community and who have committed themselves to taking leadership roles on and off of their playing fields and courts.
