Jacksonville, Fla. – The No. 14 Florida State men’s track and field team finished the 2023 NCAA East Regional Championships by adding seven more bids to the NCAA Championships that will be held in Austin, Texas from June 7-10. Milton Ingraham, Jeremiah Davis, Ismael Kone, David Mullarkey, and James Rivera punched their tickets individually, in addition to the 4x100 relay. “The men had a great night,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “We competed as hard as we have all season.” Ingraham started the day with a strong performance in the discus, finishing with a mark of 59.76m on his third attempt. The 4x100 relay punched its ticket to Austin by placing fourth at 39.30. After qualifying for nationals in the long jump on Wednesday, Davis added the triple jump to his event list for Austin, finishing sixth with a mark of 15.98, which he performed on his third attempt. Florida State’s Track & Field teams will be well represented at the NCAA East Regional being held at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville from Wednesday-Saturday. FSU will have 25 student-athletes competing in 20 events with 13 qualifiers from the men’s team in nine events and 12 from the women’s team in 11 events. “The old timers refer to this meet as the East Region championships, but it’s truly the first round of the NCAA National Championships,” FSU Head Coach Bob Braman said. “How you perform here sets the fields for Nationals and that’s key for getting in good lanes and the best heats and flights for the NCAA Championship in two weeks. “So, job one is to finish in the Top 12 of your event and advance to the final round in Austin, but you need to be at your best no matter what.” The East Regional is one of two in the country with qualifiers from the western portion of the U.S. competing at Sacramento State. The Top 12 finishers in each ev ....
FSU OPENS TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Florida State’s entries at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at NC State positioned themselves nearly perfectly on an opening day that featured mostly preliminary events.
Amir Willis blistered the Wolfpack track to win the preliminary heats of the men’s 200 meters with a time of 20.46. He will be joined in the finals by teammate Ismael Kone who placed seventh overall with a time of 20.94. Denzell Feagin’s time of 21.00 put him just out of the upcoming final in ninth place, and Taylor Banks was clocked at 21.21 for 12th place.
2023 ACC Indoor Performer of the Year Jeremiah Davis emerged from the men’s long jump preliminary flights as the favorite with a field-leading 7.94 meter leap. Teammate Curtis Williams will also compete in the finals having finished sixth with a leap of 7.50 meters.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State’s track and field program pulled off an upset last year at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and they are hoping for the same kind of performance this year at the conference championships being held at NC State Thursday-Saturday.
“We were picked to finish third in the league on the men’s side last year and fifth on the women’s,” said Head Coach Bob Braman who leads all active ACC coaches with 12 men’s outdoor championships and five women’s titles. “We ended up winning the men’s championship by the largest scoring margin in ACC history and the women were only nine points shy of a title of their own.
“This feels like a similar scenario, but it would be very difficult to have as monstrous a meet as we had last year,” Braman said.
The Seminoles will count on their leaders at the always-challenging conference championships and they have been up to the task all season. Jeremiah Davis, Dajaz ....
