nearby hospital. no word on his condition. earlier in the day, a man was shot in the leg in the same area, and police say the victim would not supply information about who shot him. north bay grass fire forcing evacuations closed a freeway yesterday afternoon. flames breaking out in a grassy area near state route 12 and beck avenue in fairfield, just before 2:00. about 20 homes on james street had to be evacuated as firefighters worked to keep those flames from spreading. wind and dry grass caused a big problem for them. they had fire under control about 5:00 last night. the cause, still under investigation. all the evacuations have been lifted around the foley fire in shasta county. calfire says it s now 15% contained. two injuries blamed on that fire. it s burned eight homes, 10 outbuildings since it started over the weekend, on friday. a man is accused of driving the bully fire while driving through a field to a marijuana grow. a contractor working on the central sub
