SAA announces 2021 Annual Juried Show award winners

The Scituate Arts Association announced 21 award winners at the SAA’s Annual Juried Show.
This year’s awards are being shared on the SAA and Gallery websites at https://scituateartsassociation.com and https://frontstreetartgallery.com, respectively, as large gatherings are still not an option due to COVID-19.
On April 7, awards totaling over $1,000 were selected. The prizes were made possible by the event’s three business supporters: Janet Cornacchio and Jack Conway, of Scituate, and Coastal Heritage Bank and Frame Center, of Hanover.
The accepted works and award winners were chosen by jurors Michelle Clarke, a Hanover artist and Best in Show winner at the SAA s 2019 Juried Show; Nan Daly, whose memories of growing up along the Hudson and in the Catskills of New York provide much of the imagery of her abstract paintings; and Margaret McWethy, who is an impressionist painter with

From Friday April 9-May 2, the Front Street Art Gallery, 124 Front St., will feature “Scituate Arts Juried Show.”
This year, due to COVID-19, the show was juried from over 170 online entries. The 80-plus accepted entries will be dropped off at the Gallery where the jurors will select the award winners. A Best in Show winner will be announced April 8. Masks are required while browsing the show.
The jurors are Michelle Clarke, Nan Daly and Margaret McWethy. Clarke, Hanover artist and 2019 Best in Show winner at the SAA 2019 Juried Show, is a self-taught artist. Daly grew up climbing trees in a city bordering the Hudson and the Catskills of New York. She has exhibited at the Duxbury Art Complex Museum, the Zullo Gallery, Front Street Art Gallery, the Natick Center for the Arts, the Attleboro Art Museum and the WBGH Juried Fine Art Auction.
