SIOUX CENTER Two strokes separated Spencer and host Western Christian at the top of the Wolfpack’s invitational Tuesday at The Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center Tuesday. The Tigers would best the hosts, 323-325, taking the title. Spencer Coach Marc Bruning said he was “very happy with the Invite win. Kids battled some tough elements on a very tough golf course, and handled themselves very well.”

SPENCER Thursday, at the Spencer Golf & Country Club, the home team had all four its scoring finishers shoot within six strokes of one another. Tigers Trevor Cooke and Foster Roos earned medalist and runner-up honors to lead Spencer past Storm Lake, 162-170. Tiger coach Marc Bruning acknowledged “another conference win, if we can win against ELC next week, we will win the regular conference title for the second year in a row.”

SPENCER Fifteen teams and 90 golfers took the course at Spencer Golf & Country Club to participate in the Spencer Boys Invitational Golf Tournament Monday. After 18 holes of action, the Tigers placed sixth in team scoring with 327. Freshman Easton Beehler led the way for the Tigers, shooting a 78. “Was a very good field with some 3A teams that we could potentially face in district or sectional play,” said Marc Bruning, Spencer boys golf coach.

SPIRIT LAKE AJ Stanley, Easton Beehler, Trevor Cooke and Tyler Storey treated Spirit Lake’s Brooks Golf Course like it was home Tuesday. Stanley medaled, Beehler finished runner-up both with rounds of 38; while Cooke and Storey finished close behind with 39s for Spencer. The course mastery resulted in a 17-stroke road win, 154-171. Marc Bruning, Tiger head coach acknowledged it was “another very solid outing by our guys.
