SPENCER Cold and windy weather greeted the Spencer girls and their field of competitors at Spencer Golf & Country Club Monday for the team’s home invitational. Despite less than idea conditions, three SHS players occupied the top three spots on the leaderboard to help Spencer to a 42-stroke win.

SPENCER Thursday, at the Spencer Golf & Country Club, the home team had all four its scoring finishers shoot within six strokes of one another. Tigers Trevor Cooke and Foster Roos earned medalist and runner-up honors to lead Spencer past Storm Lake, 162-170. Tiger coach Marc Bruning acknowledged “another conference win, if we can win against ELC next week, we will win the regular conference title for the second year in a row.”

Baker finishes 1 stroke off lead | The Daily Reporter

SPENCER Coach Nate Wendt’s clubbers produced a Tiger girls golf win at Spencer Golf & Country Club Tuesday. Spencer topped both Algona and Western Christian, topping the runner-up Bulldogs by eight stokes. The Tigers had defeated the Bulldogs earlier this season, but it was the first meeting of the year against WC. Wendt said, “Algona is always a good team. They are a good test for us to play away from the conference.

Middle of the pack | The Daily Reporter

SPENCER Fifteen teams and 90 golfers took the course at Spencer Golf & Country Club to participate in the Spencer Boys Invitational Golf Tournament Monday. After 18 holes of action, the Tigers placed sixth in team scoring with 327. Freshman Easton Beehler led the way for the Tigers, shooting a 78. “Was a very good field with some 3A teams that we could potentially face in district or sectional play,” said Marc Bruning, Spencer boys golf coach.
