Arizona’s children began getting vaccinated Thursday after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for kids ages 12 to 15.
Pediatric clinics around the state started offering the vaccine to children who were enthusiastic about receiving their first shot. And their parents seemed equally excited to sign their children up for appointments.
Keri Chorpenning of Peoria said she was “so thrilled” that her 14-year-old son, Nathaniel, could get his first dose of the vaccine at the Lake Pleasant office of Pleasant Pediatrics, which began offering the vaccine to children Wednesday, ....
